Arrival Day

At Port Elizabeth airport, you are greeted by your chauffeur who whisks you away on a guided tour on route to Abo Shamani. After a relaxing, scenic drive you are transferred to the Abo Shamani River Boat to enjoy a river cruise to the Lodge. At the Lodge you receive a traditionally warm African welcome and once settled in, you enjoy a Lodge lunch. The Abo Shamani staff then does a brief orientation & planning meeting to ensure that you have the best possible stay. In the late afternoon the Lodge takes you on an exciting game drive on the Greater Conservancy. To finish the evening you relax and feast on a Lodge Dinner to the sounds of Africa.

Departure Day

Your day begins with an early morning Abo Shamani walk or drive. Your efforts are rewarded with a gourmet champagne bush breakfast. Sorrowfully you check out but look forward to your last river cruise to the Marina where you meet your chauffeur. You reminisce over your stay while being transferred back to Port Elizabeth Airport.

Beach Day

Your day begins bright and early with a Lodge game drive. Next you enjoy another sumptuous Lodge Breakfast. Excitedly you catch the boat for a river cruise to the majestic Kenton on Sea beaches. You spend your time on beach unwinding and taking in the scenery and sea air. Relaxing oddly enough builds up your appetite and you feast on a meal at a beach restaurant. Your afternoon is spent enjoying the beaches and coastline from horse back or just lazing and tanning. You retire in the evening to dinner at the Lodge and an early night.

Dune Field Day

You start off your morning with Abo Shamani game drive and are amazed at how many animals you see up close. The game viewing has built up an appetite and you are thankful when you see the Abo Shamani, bush breakfast spread. Next you are whisked away to the nearby Dunes Fields for a day of dune riding and beautiful views. After relaxing on the completely desolate beach you sit down in luxury to enjoy another African feast. You can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the Lodge and catching up on your reading at the pool. Just as you think your day can’t get any better you are treated to a lavish dinner on the Abo Shamani pontoon.

Port Alfred Day

Your day begins bright and early with a Lodge game drive. The game drive is followed by a superb Lodge breakfast. Feeling the need to get out; you brood over how you will spend your time in Port Alfred. The options are endless and include: golf, bowls, river cruise, biking, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, shopping or time at the health hydro. After squeezing in as many activities as possible you unwind while enjoying lunch at one of the local restaurants. Your afternoon is spent admiring the views and coastline from horse back or just exploring PA. Having enjoyed your day out so much, you decide to have dinner at a restaurant off the Reserve.

Addo Elephant Park Day

Instead of going on the early morning Abo Shamani walk or game drive you decide to rather sleep in. You roll out of bed and into the Lodge dinning room for a lavish breakfast. Having a good meal gives you the kick you needed for your next adventure: The Addo Elephant Park! You take a break from all of the elephant viewing to have a quick lunch and then get back to some more viewing. Dinner is an early one at one of the Kenton restaurants and you spend the rest of your evening relaxing next to the fire place.

Day on Ranch

You decide to take full advantage of you day by starting it with an Early morning Abo Shamani game drive. Next, you are treated to a lavish champagne bush breakfast. After breakfast you set out to do some activities on the ranch which could include fishing, bird watching, a game walk and animal tracking, canoeing or go crabbing and catch your own dinner. You are surprised with a superb picnic lunch out on the ranch. After lunch, you take up some rifle and archery lessons and decide to leave the clay pigeon shooting for another day. Sunset is spent on a scenic river cruise while sipping on delicious cocktails or fly fishing. Once again you are treated to a delectable meal at the Lodge. You retire early to bed and dream of all of the adventures you had on Abo Shamani during your day.

Day Being Involved with Ranch Activities

You decide not to do the Abo Shamani walk this morning but rather go for a horse ride. Before your gourmet champagne bush breakfast you pay a quick visit to Cat Breeding program. You leave your day in the capable hands of the ranch manager to include you in the Ranch Activities. These include: tracking or darting animals; animal capture; accompanying the vet and getting involved with whatever is happening on the Reserve. Over Lunch you are engaged in conversation with the Reserve staff and get an entertaining education on life in Africa. After your well deserved lunch you continue with the Ranch activities that you have got yourself involved in. Before dinner you decide that you just can’t get enough of the outdoors and go on a Lodge game drive. Exhausted, you hurriedly eat dinner at the Lodge and climb into your plush bed to dream about your thrilling day.

Day on River

You get a good start to your morning with a delicious Lodge breakfast. Next you take a boat cruise up and down the Bushman’s River. You decide to be a bit more active and spend the rest of your morning skiing and swimming in river pools. You deliberate over having lunch on the boat or at the Sand Bar Restaurant, the Sand Bar Restaurant wins. The rest of your afternoon is spent relaxing while fishing or crabbing. Next are cocktails while admiring the beautiful African sunset. Your perfect day is completed with a perfect dinner at the Lodge. You spend the rest of your evening out on the Lodge deck taking-in all of the animal noises.

Relaxing day

You start off your morning with a sumptuous Lodge breakfast. The morning is spent unwinding at the Lodge and catching up on your tan, reading or swimming. What relaxing day would be complete without a visit to the health hydro or perhaps a round of golf? Once you have worked up an appetite you enjoy lunch at one of the charming restaurants in Port Alfred. Back to the Reserve for an Abo Shamani sunset game drive or better still a night drive to see the animals by moonlight. Dinner is spent enjoying a lavish meal on the Abo Shamani pontoon on the Bushman’s River.

Day of Exploring (1)

Your day begins bright and early with a Lodge game drive. Afterwards you are treated to yet another delicious breakfast. Next is a visit to the historical Diaz cross and the Quinn sculpture garden. This is followed by a visit to the picturesque Alexandria forest where you are treated to an indulgent picnic. After lunch you explore the forest and are blown away by its beauty. Dinner is yet another impressive meal served at the Lodge.

Day of Exploring (2)

Your day begins bright and early with a Lodge game drive. Afterwards you are treated to a delicious Lodge breakfast. Next is a visit to Grahamstown. You go via Bathurst and stop at the charming town to look around and buy a few mementos. Once you arrive at the quaint town you decide to have a meal at one of their charming restaurants before exploring further. After lunch you set about exploring the town, its churches and the 1820 Settlers museum. Dinner is yet another impressive meal served at the Lodge.
