Kenton on Sea

This peaceful town rests between the Bushman’s and Kariega Rivers. It offers a wide variety of diverse landscapes ranging from contrasting rivers and beaches to coves, lagoons, forests, bushveld and sand dunes. Because of the cold Benguela current from the west and the warm Mozambique current from the east, the climate has sculpted extremes of landscape: deserts, snow covered mountains, savannahs, tropical mangrove swamps, high forests and grassland eco systems.

Kenton’s seafront comprises a serene estuary and long stretches of unspoiled beaches where dolphins and whales are regularly spotted, it has even become home to its own family of whales that visit its coast annually between April and October.

Kenton on Sea has beautifully sheltered bays and rocky coves that are ideal for exploring and snorkelling.

The town is small, quaint and understated with a rustic charm. Kenton on Sea has a modest amount of restaurants and shops. The people are friendly and helpful. The town and surrounding area are malaria-free and disease free.
